I have met more than I could imagine even existed. Child burns happen ~ too often unfortunately.
For Child Burn Survivors in Ontario – they have a very special place called Camp BUCKO to go to.
Camp BUCKO provides these AMAZING kids a safe, fun space to go where they get to feel “normal” and just like every other kid at camp. BUCKO helps these burn survivors gain confidence through their childhood years and learn to define their own mark in this world and not be defined by their burns.
Retired District Chief Benoit Rollin and I will be hosting our 6th Annual OFS Comedy for Kids Thursday November 4th withYukYuk’s at a special location of the Ottawa Marriott at 100 Kent St. (*with ample social distancing of tables)
100% of the proceeds goes to Camp BUCKO to ensure all burn survivor kids can go to camp.
2020 - camp events could not take place
2021 - we were able to run a ‘modified’ safe camp week in August plus our Family Camp weekend in September with zero positive covid cases and TONS of fun for our campers! AMAZING!!!
2022 – preparations are already underway to make next year a huge celebration for our campers
