Good afternoon ROFFA members,
Most recently, in the span of only two weeks, we lost two members of our OFS Family, a 40-year-old active OFS member and a 65-year-old retired ROFFA member. Sadly, and unexpectedly, they took their own lives.
We may not have personally known one or any of them, but we nevertheless grieve the loss of two of our brothers and we can feel for the deep pain their families must be going through. From all the posts we can see on social media, they were both very well-liked and respected individuals. They were both far too young to die.
It is important for everyone to know that help is there for anyone who is struggling. It is also important for everyone to be there for each other in time of need. You don’t have to be a psychologist, peer supporter, or therapist to listen with an empathetic ear. Sometimes, just being present for a friend counts for a lot.
If you are struggling, know that you don’t have to do so in silence. There are lots of resources out there including the ones listed below. Please reach out.
CAMH crisis line via calling 988
Mental Health Crisis Line: 1-866-996-0991 (toll-free) or 613-722-6914 (local), 24 hours a day

Take care of yourselves and each other.
Bob
