Peter Allain, 77, passed away peacefully , March 2nd, 2024

Dieppe, NB – Peter Allain, 77, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024.

 

Born in Arichat, NS, he was the son of the late Emile Allain and the late Florence (Dumont) Allain.

 

Peter was always proud of being a Firefighter, having had a rewarding career of 37 years.

 

1965-Canadian Armed Forces: five years Firefighter and Crash Crew Specialist.

1970- Gloucester Fire Department: Firefighter to Lieutenant Inspector, Chief Inspector, Deputy Fire Chief, and Acting Fire Chief.

2001- City of Ottawa Fire Services: Deputy Fire Chief Prevention / Education.

He retired in 2002.

 

After retirement, Peter was happiest with Edwina, especially early morning on the golf course.

 

Gone but never forgotten, you will live on in our hearts.

 

He will be sadly missed by Edwina Allain his loving wife, soulmate, and best friend of 55 years; his three sisters: Raymonde Belair (Claude) of Dieppe, Sylvia Allain (late Grant Van Vliet) of Montreal, and Jocelyne Carroll (late Walter) of Hawkesbury, ON; his brother-in-law, Charles Byron Long (Frances) of Brockville, ON; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his four brothers: Jean, Edouard, Paul, and Gerard; and by his sister, Yolande.

 

In respect to Peter’s wishes, there will be no visitation and funeral service.
