David Alan Dakers
It is with a heavy heart that we regretfully announce the passing of David Alan Dakers. David passed peacefully the afternoon of February 18, 2023, at the age of 68, in the Ottawa Civic Hospital surrounded by loving family. Dear father to Abbey, the true love of his life, and her incredible husband Eric. Cherished grandfather to his two beautiful grandsons and “best buddies” Killian and Lochlan. Much loved brother to his siblings Dianne, Barry (Lori) and Jimmy (Sharon). And beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Ottawa, David served 33 courageous years with the Ottawa Fire Department. David “Dakes”, will be fondly remembered as a charming man with a smile that made you feel like you were just welcomed home. His kind heart and loving soul touched many people around him. Friends may pay respects at Kelly Funeral Home - Barrhaven Chapel, 3000 Woodroffe Ave, Nepean. Visitation will be Sunday, March 5th, 2023 from 2-4 pm and Monday, March 6th, 2023 from 10 am-11 am, with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 am in the Chapel.
