ROFFA Member Robert ( Bob) Todd Passed Away

Died: July 4, 2026

In the afternoon of Saturday July 4th, Bob passed peacefully while surrounded by his family. 

Bob was a firefighter for the city of Gloucester and the amalgamated city of Ottawa for 33 years. He was married to Valerie; they were the love of each other’s lives for over 45 years. He was the incredibly proud dad to his daughter Chantel and his son Robert (Bobby), as well as a proud father-in-law to Chris (Chantel) and Samantha (Bobby). He was immensely proud of his family and always wanted them near by. 

He was also a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, and the type of guy that would strike up a conversation with a stranger just because, he had an impact on everyone he met. 

He had a great sense of humour and was always teasing his family in the best ways. He was kind, loving, and always available to help whenever asked. His kindness was something often seen in the way he’d make a hot stew for the barn cats in the depths of winter to help warm their hearts, the way he welcomed Samantha to the family and took her in when life hit her hard, the way he’d always stop by to see Valerie at work and bring her a coffee, or the way he’d look into any of the pups eyes and give them the last bites of his meal, these are just a few ways that made Bob who he was. 

He loved to read, a trait he passed onto his daughter and had a curiosity about everything, something he passed onto his son. 

He was also an avid storyteller, he’d recount the adventures of his youth, days with the fire department, tales of times with his family, and anything that happened throughout his life. 

Even though he had his share of health challenges over the years, he always pulled through, he wanted to be here, to be with his family, he didn’t want to miss anything, and he knew there were still so many adventures yet to come and be shared with his family. 

Bob was someone that made a difference to those who knew him, his presence is one that will be missed immensely and in measures that cannot be captured by words.
