Thomas Leo Blondin April 21, 1944 - April 22, 2023

Retired Deputy Fire Chief OFS

Following several years of persevering through chronic illness, Tom passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital with his wife and family close by his side. Predeceased by his parents, Mary and Leo Blondin, as well as his brothers in-law, Tommy, Barry, and Terry (Debbie) Hennessy, Tom is survived by his high school sweetheart - Arleen Blondin, as well as his children - Amanda McEwen (Dan), and TJ Blondin (Alison Skitt). Happily inseparable for 63 years, Tom and Arleen were also blessed with four cherished grandchildren - Pamela McEwen (Kent Clingin), Jospeh McEwen, Ella Blondin, and Thomas Blondin. They continue to be Tom and Arleen's pride and joy, along with the adored new addition of great-granddaughter - Violet (born to Pamela and Kent). As the eldest, Tom is also survived by his sisters - Brenda Jolicoeur (Maurice), Patricia Freeman (Chris), and brother Bob/Genie Blondin (Heather).

Apart from his family, Tom found immense fulfillment in his work with the Ottawa Fire Services, spanning a career of nearly four decades. Following Tom's example - we will never forget to welcome strangers as honoured guests, keep our word once it is given, and indulge those we love with all that we have to give. We love you Tom, Dad, Papa.

Arleen and family would like to invite all who are able to attend, to remember and celebrate Tom's life with a Memorial Reception on Friday, May 5th, 2023, at Tubman Funeral Homes -Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline and Bayshore Rd) from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, it is Arleens wish that donations be made instead to CHEO or the Ottawa Heart Institute in Tom's name.
