Margaret Lawrence passed away, she was the wife of the late OFD member Charlie Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Margaret Sharon (nee McGrath) February 16, 1942 - October 24, 2023 Loving and loved wife, mother, grandma, sister, daughter and friend, Margaret passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness in the presence of family. Predeceased by her husband Charlie, Margaret spent the last 8 years of her life living happily and comfortably at Unitarian House where she had many friends and kind supports. Margaret lived life to the fullest. She was a hardworking wife and mother who ran a tight ship on the homefront, ensuring there was always a hot meal and a clean house for her children (Heather, Stephanie and Bill) and her husband. She was a committed volunteer throughout her life, notably at Hopewell public school and with numerous charities including completing income tax returns for seniors. She also had a long professional career as a teacher, early childhood educator and administrator. She always enjoyed a good time, whether with her sisters, her bridge group, the Fire Fighters wives or with her grandchildren; she was always ready to cook up a good meal or turn up the music. Together with her husband, they provided a good life for their three children, full of family camping trips, drives in the country and stops of historic interest.

She declined quickly after a short hospital stay and passed peacefully at Ruddy-Shenkman hospice. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. There will be a service on Sunday October 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home on Somerset St. Donations to the Ottawa Mission would be appreciated.
